Pilar

Pilar was born from a simple but powerful need: the need for a space where everyone can feel safe, connected, and empowered through community.

We believe that feminism is a movement for collective liberation. It is inseparable from the fight against racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, sexism, colonialism, and every system of oppression that prevents people from living freely and with dignity. Feminism is not a single issue it is a commitment to justice for all.

Like many others, we struggled to find a place where we could practice activism in person while also finding our people: a community where we could belong, grow, create, rest, and feel safe. We wanted a space where organizing and healing could exist side by side.

As birth workers, it was essential for us to center reproductive justice and reproductive rights in this vision. We know that caring for our communities means protecting bodily autonomy, supporting families in all their forms, and advocating for equitable access to care.

Today, Pilar is taking its first steps by bringing people together through classes, workshops, community gatherings, and collaborative events. We are building the relationships, knowledge, and collective care that we believe every strong community deserves.

Our long-term vision is to create a permanent feminist center: a welcoming space for community, creativity, learning, organizing, mutual aid, and healing. A place where people can access resources, attend events, share skills, build solidarity, and imagine a more just future together.

Pilar is not just a destination it is something we are building together. Every class, every gathering, every conversation, and every person who joins us brings us one step closer to making that vision a reality.

Whether you're looking to connect, learn, organize, create, or simply find a place where you can exhale, you are welcome here.
